What follows is mostly a stream of conciousness brain dump as I get ready for bed. Please don’t hold it against me.

Let's be Happy!
Bunny says
“Quit yer mopin!”

There are many gaming blogs that tell you why you should be grumpy, angst-ridden, and viciously angry. Too many games suck, there’s too little innovation, big companies swallow the little ones whole, politicians pick on gaming to further their own careers, there is too little representation of minorites, adventure games are dead, and my Nintendog hates me. Whine whine whine…

Here at Aliens in the Desert, we (by which I mean myself) are feeling a general happiness void in the gaming world. And we find this sad. We don’t like being sad. And neither do you, I am guessing. So we’ve decided to turn those frowns upside down! Games are fun! And there are many exciting and happy things that happen in the wide world of games every day! So we are putting our curmudgeonliness safely away in our junk drawers to save for proper usage another time.* Instead we will be serving up the gaming love.So when you find yourself crying over the latest bug-filled next gen game or Hillary Clinton’s newest bandwagon, come to us — we’ll have your tissue box waiting.

(Thanks to Cute Overload for the awesome bunny!)

*A time that probably involves drinking and a late night at GDC.

OK, this is truly great.   There aren’t nearly enough good poems about games in the world, depsite the publication of the completely excellent Blue Wizard is About to Die.
They are to have a new poem twice a week.  How cool is that? Unfortunately I can’t seem to find any RSS feed information on their site, but I’m sure they’ll rectify that.
